Over four days, more than 250 community members from across the state of Oregon built energy for a just transition. The Assembly itself was a space that was intentionally made to be led by frontline base-building organizations. Our goals were to: introduce communities to the Just Transition framework, history, and principles and share how our communities experience climate change, and our articulation of solution. The working groups examined the three crises: global empire, economic and ecological. The sessions on Housing Rights and Workers’ Rights, the Environment and Climate Justice and False Solutions and Fight Against White Supremacy gave participants the opportunity to examine the main problems of our time.
